micah holmquist's irregular thoughts and links
Welcome to the musings and notes of a Cadillac, Michigan based writer named Micah Holmquist, who is bothered by his own sarcasm.
Please send him email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Holmquist's full archives are listed here.
Sites Holmquist trys, and often fails, to go no more than a couple of days without visiting (some of which Holmquist regularly swipes links from without attribution)
Blogs that for one reason or another Holmquist would like to read on at least something of a regular basis (always in development)

Please tell me this is not real
We've got tough work there [Iraq] because, you see, there are terrorists there who would rather kill innocent people than allow for the advance of freedom. That's what you're seeing going on. These people hate freedom. and we love freedom. And that's where the clash occurs. See, we don't think freedom is America's gift to the world. We know that freedom is the Almighty's gift to every man and woman in this world. That's what we know. (Applause.)They don't know that they want "freedom" yet, but they do because that is what God wants.
UPDATE: By "freedom," Bush of course means that the government have the "freedom" to crack down on depictions of consenting adults fornicating (Laura Sullivan of The Baltimore Sun, April 6, 2004). (Thanks to Matthew Tobey for the link and amusing comments.) I'm sure this is only being done in order to make "abstinence only" "sex education" work. 2:34 p.m. 04/07/04
