There are a lot of hawks desperate to connect Iraq to the September 11 terrorists attacks so that they have a justification for attacking Iraq that doesn't involve imperial ambitions. Is this and this -that is weak speculation- really the best that they can do? The answer appears to be yes.
In some ways this situation stems from the fact that the White House has not been very clear about how it has tied to al Qaeda to September 11 thus providing lots of room for speculation. People are free to speculate all they want but it is a bit strange why they confuse speculation with a reason to attack another country.
