Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is worried that the
Federal Bureau of Investigation 's new focus on terrorism will leave less resources to fight the "war on drugs," according to an
Associated Press report . Given the
results , maybe this isn't the worst thing in the world.
However, once Daley really thinks about the new powers the the FBI is getting -powers outlined by Holy Warrior John Ashcroft himself- don't be suprised if he changes his mind and decides that the likely violations of civil liberties these changes could cause is of equal importance to the loss of liberties caused by the "war on drugs." posted by micah holmquist at 5/31/2002 01:30:00 PM
